Package Deal

Loving God and loving others is a package deal. You can't have one without the other. John introduces the role of the Holy Spirit in our assurance. With the Holy Spirit's help, we are able to discern God's spirit from false spirits. John will go further into explaining the moral reason for love which is rooted in the person of God.
