As Jesus has already been preaching preparation and reverence for His second coming, he closes out this portion of His message with a strong warning that His first coming would bring division, a rebuke that the religious can't tell the signs revealed to them, and a call to settle the debt (of sin) on each one by repenting and believing on Him!
