In the trials of Jesus, we see common responses people have with Jesus of fearful avoidance, shallow curiosity, and prideful independence. All of these are ways people reject Jesus and seek freedom in the wrong places. Jesus goes along with it to exchange places with us, dying so we can truly live in freedom with Him.
